Introduction to Pheniyan
Pheniyan is a type of layered vermicelli (sawwaiyan). It’s eaten in sehri in Ramadan and as Eid breakfast in throughout Pakistan. The crunchy Phe-niyan is cooked with milk and garnished with nuts. Recommend Cafe Sajawal Phe-niyan. It is usually served as a snack or dessert. It is similar to a funnel cake but is smaller and crispier in texture. The dough is made by combining all-purpose flour, sugar, and ghee.It is then deep-fried in hot oil until it is golden brown and crispy. Phe-niyan is a traditional sweet dish made from fine vermicelli (Phe-niyan) and milk. Phe-niyan is usually served warm with a garnish of chopped nuts like almonds and pistachios.
